About the symposium
Latin American Student Council Symposium 2026
The ISCB Student Council and its Regional Student Groups are thrilled to announce the 7th Latin American Student Council Symposium (LA-SCS 2026), to be held in a hybrid format in Lima, Peru.
The event is designed for undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral students working in bioinformatics and computational biology. Participants can present their research, connect with the regional community and strengthen scientific communication skills in a collaborative environment.

Present your work to a regional and international audience in bioinformatics and computational biology.

View detailed abstract guidelines
- Your work should broadly fall within bioinformatics and computational biology.
- Unpublished work is encouraged. Published work may also be submitted if it has not previously been presented at an ISCB Student Council Symposium.
- Abstracts will be evaluated according to clarity, usability, uniqueness, relevance to computational biology and completeness.
- Keep the title concise while accurately representing the research.
- The abstract must not exceed 250 words and should include:
- Background
- Methodology
- Results
- Conclusions
- Do not include position, affiliation or other personal information in the abstract text.
- Presentations are individual. Co-authors are allowed, but only the presenting author receives the presentation or award certificate.
- Each person may deliver only one presentation.
- The presenting author must have participated in the original research.
- Submitters may select oral only, oral or poster, or poster only.
- Do not use abbreviations or references in the abstract.
